Antique English Ironstone Sugar Pot with Lid
Antique English Ironstone Sugar Pot with Lid
This antique ironstone sugar pot dates back to the late 1800's to early 1900's. Its combination of yellow and turquoise flowers, gold accents, and traditional farmhouse charm is sure to add an elegant touch to your kitchen décor.
Made by the Henry Alcock Company in Cobridge, England. It measures approximately 7" tall and 7" wide (from handle tip to handle tip)
It does have some wear appropriate to its age. There is a good bit of crazing in the glaze and some of the gold paint has worn off on the handles and trim of the lid.
There is also a surface crack on one side, as shown in the photos. The crack does not appear to effect the structure of the piece.
There are also small chips along the base, as shown in the photos.
This piece is intended for decorative use, and would make a lovely addition to your ironstone collection!
Please note "semi-porcelain" is a synonym for ironstone and was used by several English companies on their marks.
