One of my favorite finds from the whole trip! This stuffed dog was likely made by the Chiltern company and dates to the 1930's. He's made of mohair with glass eyes, which are marks of his age.
Children would set these "pajama dogs" on their beds and stuff their pajamas inside the back zipper pouch for safekeeping during the day.
I have never seen one of these anywhere in the US! He is a bit worn but has so much personality and was obviously well loved.
He measures approximately 16" long, not including his tail. Pictures show the wear--on his ears, tail, snout, and some staining from his leather collar on his neck and face. His zipper does open and close but is a bit stiff.
The photos also show him stuffed with shopping bags to help display his shape. He will be shipped unstuffed and you can choose to stuff him with your own materials if you like.
