This stunning quilt is filled with color! It's a beautiful representation of a vintage quilt made with feed sack fabrics.
The front is a bowtie pattern with the primary colors being red, green, and blue, with some creamsicle orange showing up here and there. The sashing is a beautiful shade of lilac purple, with white hand-stitching and a white muslin backing.
The quilt is soft with a medium weight.
CONDITION
This quilt is in overall very good condition. The only area of damage I was able to find is one very small tear in the purple sashing near the edge. When viewed from the back, you can see a few areas where the batting has shifted and the quilt has thinned, however there are no large areas of rips or wear.
There are 3 light mature stains on the front, a bit of yellowing along the edge, and a few (4-5) yellowed spots on the backside. None of these spots detract from the beauty of this quilt and are not immediately noticeable.
The quilt has been carefully handwashed and air-dried. The stains that are here are mature stains that will likely remain.
The age of the quilt is unknown for certain, however I would estimate 1930s to 1940's. It was found in West Tennessee.
