This is the perfect quilt for anyone who loves American history, springtime, or for the entry-level quilt collector!
Each block highlights one of the 50 states and was created using the popular Aunt Martha's heat transfer block pattern. The pattern was transferred onto the quilt block using a heat press method, then the quilter finished out the design by tracing with special ball-point paint pens. Please note these blocks are not embroidered.
The quilting was done by hand and the quilt is all cotton. It is low loft, thin and lightweight. It has been soaked in oxyclean, rinsed, and is free of odors.
CONDITION
I give this quilt an A- for condition. I don't believe it's particularly old, dating anywhere from the 1960's to 1980's. Based on the softness of the cotton fabric, I do not believe it is any newer than that.
It does have the following issues:
- General yellowing and one area of more yellowing around the states New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Arkansas
- A line of spotted stains on the backside from where the quilt was folded and stored.
- 4 small tears along the edge
- 2 small stains on the backside, some other yellowing in areas
- 4 small stains on the front side
- A few spots of wear to the ball point designs
- Shifting of the loft and thinning in spots
- Missouri quilt block is upside down -- perhaps this makes it more interesting!
Not every issue is shown in the photos, I've tried to show the most significant ones. Even the staining is quite light and not easily noticeable unless you are looking for it.
SIZE
Approximately 83" square.
Please note I am not a quilt expert and have made every effort to describe this quilt accurately. It is a vintage item and will show age. Please review all photos carefully and message me with any additional questions or concerns you may have prior to purchase, as all sales are final. Thank you!
