A deliciously soft quilt with a beautiful color palette of blues, reds, and magenta. Filled with primitive and country charm! Use as-is for a soft cuddle quilt or repurpose for your creative projects.
This quilt has a muslin backing with muslin and cotton quilt squares. The main quilt blocks are composed of the Anvil pattern, with a white background and a diamond pattern trim. Some of the white blocks have a very faint blue polka dot pattern. The primary colors are red, blue, and magenta, but you will also see splashes of light green, coral, pinks, and yellow.
CONDITION
This quilt still has a lot of life left, however it does show its age! It has not been washed since the fabrics are so delicate, however it has been hung outside to air out and is free of odors. There are several areas of tears on the front as well as general worn spots where the backing shows through. The edge of the quilt is frayed throughout. There are light yellowing stains on both the front and back, along with one larger stain on the back that appears to be ink (it does not show through to the front). There are also two areas on the front where a sticky residue was found. I soaked those areas and attempted to wipe off as much residue as possible without tearing the fabric. If you love a soft quilt and don't mind its imperfections, this quilt would make a great addition to a couch back or foot of the bed.
The age of the quilt is unknown for certain, however I would estimate 1930's to 1940's. It was found in West Tennessee.
